PhotoWorkshops Partnership is the husband and wife team Alison and David Präkel. We are based in a coverted school house. Our facilities are to the highest standards.

Alison is the business manager and will help you arrange accommodation and travel - you just have to ask, it is part of our service. David is a qualified teacher having worked as a journalist and latterly for the Kodak Imaging Training Centre and as a Lecturer in photography (West Herts College and Cumbria Institute of the Arts).

What do we teach and why?

Photography gives you a new way of seeing the world - at whatever age. It becomes a new way to express and record your reactions to events, people and places.

"Photographic technology is moving rapidly and I enjoy digital photography every bit as much as traditional darkroom work. It is my belief that at whatever level, and with whatever medium, you must match good technique with strong composition.

I explain the techniques of photography without jargon and will help you discover your own way of seeing."
