FAQs Working in black-and-white
Possible cover artwork for my two new books on black-and-white photography. Both are for ava books. FAQs black-and-white covers the topic in the popular Frequently Asked Questions style. Basics Photography 6 is my third book in this series of textbooks aimed at 1st and 2nd year students. Both are to be published in late summer.

Sad news from Polaroid

We have added 10x8inch scanning with a new Epson 4990 Photo scanner. Much like our older 2580 but faster and with double 5x4inch capability. We have come to the conclusion that after-market inks are not for us - so we have replaced our Epson 2100 fed with Lyson monochrome inks wth an Epson 3800.

We have added Nikon D200, 18-200, 10-20mm zooms and a 10.5mm fish-eye to our kitbag along with a set of Bowens Esprit 500Ws flash heads with softboxes and umbrellas.

Polaroid has finally announced it is withdrawing from the instant film market. This effectively means the end of all Polaroid transfers, manipulations and lifts. As well as an end to using the SX-70 even if it was with 600 film and an end to Type 55 Neg/Pos film unless a manufacturer comes forward to take on production under license. Obviously, we can no longer offer courses based on Polaroid materials.

Panoramics

Many clients have enquired about digital panoramics and have taken away great images shot and created during our workshops. The above is a 370 degree wrap-around panorama taken at Walltown on Hadrian's Wall by our tutor to demonstrate the possibilities of the technique during a PhotoWorkshops digital break.
